If you've just landed on vlyou.nl, chances are you haven't met Koen yet — let alone the team behind him. Time to fix that. Five permanent colleagues in the Philippines run the processes we set up and automate for our clients, day in, day out. Not anonymous workers behind a screen, but full-fledged colleagues, each with a specialty of their own. Meet the team.
An integral part of VLYOU
We don't see our team as offshore labor that mainly needs to cost less. They are an integral part of VLYOU, in stable, long-term working relationships — and being a good employer comes first. The fact that they cost less is a logical consequence of where they live, not of how we treat them. In practice: for under €15 per hour all-in you get a highly experienced team member — better service at lower cost.
The people doing your work while you sleep
Carmela Creative genius
Working with AI, Carmela writes copy Koen can't match — and he'll happily admit it. No graphic challenge is too big for her, whether it's image or video: she edits and subtitles every episode of Koen's 365 Grapes video series, among other things. She also runs our Google Ads and Meta Ads — and whatever she takes on, she delivers quality.
Francisco The all-rounder
Francisco comes from e-commerce, has experience in IT and thinks in processes by nature. That combination makes him remarkably versatile: in no time, he worked his way up to expert in the logistics sector.
Alexandra The machine
Alexandra is service-minded and unflappable: she eats routine tasks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The subject doesn't matter to her — she loves learning new things and takes everything on with the same calm.
Wenzel The little professor
Wenzel has experience in logistics, (AI) automation and e-commerce, which makes her useful just about anywhere. She's smart and eager to learn — and her English is better than the average American's.
Christina Logistics process improver
Christina spent years in logistics, with the occasional detour into marketing. She knows logistics processes from the inside out — exactly the eye you need to make them better.
Why the Philippines?
Our team being in the Philippines is a deliberate choice. Four reasons.
English at the highest level
English is an official language in the Philippines and the education system is American-oriented. The result: excellent English, spoken and written.
Service culture and work ethic
Filipinos are known worldwide for their service mindset and work ethic. Anyone who has ever worked with Filipino colleagues in shipping will recognize it instantly.
Loyalty and long partnerships
Take good care of your people and you get years of loyalty in return. We don't hire per task, but build lasting, employment-style working relationships — and that pays off in people who know your processes inside out.
The time zone works in your favor
The Philippine workday falls largely within the European night. Whatever is left on your desk today gets picked up tonight — while you were sleeping, the work got done.
One culture, seven values
More important than where someone lives is the culture we work in. At VLYOU we share one company culture that matters more than any local one, captured in seven core values we train on every day.
Collaboration
A handover isn't done until the other person understands it and accepts it.
Curiosity
Asking questions shows care for quality, not a lack of skill.
Creativity
Don't bring one solution — bring two or three options; resourcefulness pays.
Honesty
Better honest about a mistake than silent.
Ownership
You own your work until it's truly finished.
World-class performance
The bar is set at world level — every single day.
Passion
Enjoyment and pride in the work; you can see it in the result.
Standards that make people better
Koen spent more than ten years improving processes in service organizations, including at EY. That background shows in how VLYOU itself works: standardized ways of working and clear work instructions (SOPs) for everything that recurs. Not to restrict people, but to make them more successful: everyone knows what good looks like, exceptions get the attention they deserve, and quality is repeatable — day in, day out.
