The CV Optimizer we built for JimJobs

Staffing agency JimJobs receives CVs in every shape and size — often incomplete, sometimes in broken English. We built a working demo that turns them into an anonymised, client-ready candidate profile in seconds. Here it is, from the inside.

The client and the question

JimJobs is a staffing agency in horticulture. Recruiters spent serious time retyping and formatting CVs — and in staffing, speed decides who wins the placement.

We first analysed the whole process in context — strategy, service, systems and dependencies — and then deliberately picked the spot where a working solution proves value fastest: the CV itself.

The approach in three steps

Value first

The biggest win wasn't 'something with AI', but the hours disappearing daily into converting CVs — and the placements lost when a candidate profile arrives too late.

Understand first

No tool floating in a vacuum: we looked at the process, the intended service and the surrounding systems as a whole, so the solution supports the work instead of disrupting it.

Test live, fast

Within a week there was a working, secured demo with real functionality — not slides, but something to click through and judge.

The tool: upload and configure

Upload a CV (PDF, Word or text) or start with sample data right away. The recruiter steers the tone per client and decides what happens with missing information.

Upload or paste

PDF, Word or plain text — the tool reads it all. Sample data is ready for an instant try.

Tone per client

Enter the client and the profile subtly adapts to it.

Nothing invented

The AI only uses what's in the CV. If something is missing it says 'not stated' — or the tool blocks until the basics are complete. Your choice.

The result: edit, house style and export

Within seconds there's an anonymised candidate profile. Editable directly in the document, adjustable in style and colour, and exportable to PDF or Word.

House style in one click

Three layout styles and accent colours — the tool can even pick up the colour of the client's website.

Recruiter stays in control

Every text is directly editable, sections toggle on or off, and the tool lists what still needs asking — like a safety or forklift certificate.

Ready to send as PDF or Word

Anonymised, in house style, with a candidate number — ready to send to the client.

The real before and after

No mockup: these are the complete documents from the demo. On the left the CV as it came in, on the right the profile the tool made of it.

And the role of AI + human?

The conversion is fully AI — in seconds, with the nothing-invented principle built in. The recruiter checks, completes and presents. And this is only the first step: the same analysis surfaced more process room, from candidate entry to planning. That's how we always build — first one working step that proves itself, then expand.
